The Missing Link:
Gait and Breath

Walking is one of the most repetitive movements we do throughout our lives. It involves highly connected and complex movement patterns that affect the diaphragm and breath, and yet it is something we rarely think about until it becomes a problem.

This workshop will shift your entire perspective and help you understand your gait like never before, by highlighting the link between your diaphragm, your pelvis, your feet and the way you move through space.

What You Will Learn:

  • How your breath is connected to the movements of your pelvis

  • How your pelvis is connected to the movements of your feet

  • How your feet and the way you transfer your weight is related to your breath

  • What the Zone of Apposition of your diaphragm is and why it's so important

  • How to feel all of these connections in your body

  • Before/after photos that show the power of corrective gait exercises for transforming your entire body
  • Simple tips to improve your gait and your breath

This Workshop Will Last Approximately 90 Minutes

60 minutes of lecture & experiential movement | 30 minutes of Q&A

HOW TO PREPARE FOR CLASS

To get the most benefit out of this groundbreaking workshop, it is best that you show up LIVE to practice each exercise under the watchful eye of our expert instructor. This will also allow you the opportunity to ask questions and have the most personalized experience possible. 

Even though the workshop will take place via ZOOM, please prepare as if it were a live, in-person class.
(A recording will be made available for 7 days ONLY!)

PREP #1

Everyone who attends will need to have their cameras on. Please set your space up in such a way that the instructor can see you in both a standing position, and lying down on your mat.

PREP #2

It is not advisable to eat a heavy meal before the workshop. Please do not eat for at least 1 hour prior to class.

PREP #3

You will want to wear flexible clothing that still allows the instructor to see the basic shape and posture of your body. Please no jeans or stiff pants. You will want to be able to move freely without hindrance.

PREP #4

Your feet are an essential part of this practice. Please come to the workshop barefoot, without shoes or socks.

PREP #5

Much of the class will take place on the floor. If you are sensitive to hard surfaces, please be sure to bring a mat with you.

PREP #6

If you know that you struggle with balance, you may want to have a chair, counter-top or even a wall handy, to help offer support.

PREP #7

You will also want some wall space available, as you will be instructed at some point to lie on your back with your legs up against the wall.

Verity Bell

Verity has been teaching movement and breath for over 20 years, a passion born from her own frustrating physical and mental pain issues. It began in her early 20’s with yoga training, which evolved into deep anatomical studies of movement and gait. Her extensive and ongoing training can be found on her website: www.veritybell.co She has helped 1000’s of beautiful bodies, from 3 years old to 98 year old, and has run many retreats; that was before having her two girls. She is passionate about open, curious investigation, movement education, and ultimately self-understanding and empowerment; in order to lead the full, rich lives we want to live. She lives in London with her husband and daughters.
