Tongue Mobility & Strength

Discover the surprising connections between your tongue and the rest of your body!

Tongue strength and functional mobility have the power to improve your overall balance, coordination, strength, power and flexibility.

In this 90-minute workshop, we will pick up where we left off during the Manual Release of the Tongue & Jaw for Full-Body Health workshop (NOT a prerequisite for this workshop, but contact me if you'd like access to the recording).

We will review basic tongue mobility and dive into strengthening exercises.

This workshop will be completely experiential! There will be no lecture component. Please come with an open mind, as we will be working directly in the mouth.

Experience how powerful these simple techniques can be for enhancing your overall awareness and sense of well-being.

What You Will Get From This Workshop:

  • understand where your tongue has limitations
  • understand why those limitations matter and how to make improvements
  • get comfortable working INSIDE your mouth to release tension and reduce pain  
  • learn various tongue mobility and strengthening exercises to improve movement and function 
  • feel firsthand how your tongue impacts your posture, balance, coordination, breathing, perception of pain and perception of stress  
  • walk away with an entire toolkit of self-care techniques you can utilize daily for improved overall well-being

This Workshop Will Last Approximately 90 Minutes

Who Is This Workshop For?

This workshop might be helpful for anyone with a history of:

  • Jaw pain or TMJD
  • Tension headaches or migraines
  • Forward head posture
  • Unresolved neck or shoulder pain
  • Whiplash injuries
  • Teeth grinding
  • Ear pain
  • Vestibular issues
  • Chronic stress or anxiety
  • Dysfunctional breathing patterns
  • Swallowing issues or a feeling of choking or suffocation
  • Obstructive sleep apnea
  • Vocal issues or wanting to improve vocal quality

HOW TO PREPARE FOR CLASS

To get the most benefit out of this informative and experiential workshop, it is best that you show up LIVE in order to ask the most relevant questions for your needs, and to get the most personalized tips possible.  

Even though the workshop will take place via ZOOM, please prepare as if it were a live, in-person class.
(A recording will be made available for 7 days ONLY!)

PREP #1

Everyone who attends will be asked to have their cameras on. Please plan for this class exactly as you would for an in-person experience. 

PREP #2

We will be working inside our mouths! It is recommended that you brush your teeth and rinse your mouth before practicing these techniques. 

PREP #3

Your tongue is slippery! Please bring a slightly damp washcloth in order to help you better grip your tongue.

PREP #4

It's not a great idea to stick dirty hands in your mouth. Please be sure to wash your hands with soap and water before class.

PREP #5

If you feel squeamish about putting your bare hand into your mouth, please bring some disposable gloves to class. 

PREP #6

Long, pointy nails digging into sensitive flesh is quite uncomfortable. It is recommended that you trim and file your nails before class.

PREP #7

Please bring a tongue depressor, spoon or chopstick to use as a resistance tool.

PREP #8

It's a good idea to have some water available to help moisten your mouth between techniques.
